Touching on unhealthy relationships, trauma, depression, loss of purpose and identity, 2 Kinds of Fire is a testimony of a black woman who overcame loss, shame, and hurt and her journey to healing and restoring faith. As a spoken word artist, Porsche’s work focused on social justice issues such as racism, sexism, and mental health, especially within the black community, keeping her personal life to herself. But after a conversation with God, she realized that her growth not only as an artist but as a black woman in America, would be rooted in the freedom of telling her story to help others erase shame and tell their own. 2 Kinds of Fire is a reminder that we all have pain, trauma, and hurt. It is what we allow it to do to us that matters.
